Our Vision

Wilton Rancheria’s Department of Enrollment exists to support our more than 1,000 current Citizens and walk with eligible Lineal Descendants interested in Citizenship.

Who Qualifies for Enrollment?

  1. All persons listed as Distributees or Dependent Citizens in a Plan for Distribution of the Assets of the Wilton Rancheria, and
  2. All Lineal Descendants of an individual eligible for citizenship under the above description, regardless of whether the individual through whom eligibility is claiming is living or deceased. 

*Eligibility must be proven under the Wilton Rancheria Constitution, Article III- Membership, Section 1. 

A. All persons listed as Distributees or Dependant members in A Plan for Distribution of the Assets of the Wilton Rancheria, According to the Provisions of Public Law 85-671, Enacted by the 85th Congress, Approved August 18, 1958, as approved by the Deputy Commissioner of the Interior Department’s Bureau of Indian Affairs on July 6, 1959; and B. All Lineal Descendants of an individual eligible for membership under subsection (a) above, regardless of whether the individual through whom eligibility is claiming is living or deceased.”

How To Enroll

  1. Complete this application for enrollment and submit to Enrollment Officer
  2. Our Enrollment Committee will review your application
  3. If your application is approved, the applicant will be sent for a DNA test
  4. The applicant will be posted for a 30 day review by General Council, per enrollment law passed by Tribal Council

Please note: The complete enrollment process may take up to 3 months or more.

**During the review period, any Tribal Citizen may object to the membership by writing to the Tribal office with attention to the Enrollment Officer.

No. The Office of Enrollment cannot guarantee that applicants will be enrolled within a certain time period or by a specific date. All applications will be processed in the order in which they are received. The Enrollment Committee will review your application as soon as possible while following all steps necessary to ensure that your application and records are complete, accurate and valid.

The length of time for the enrollment process varies depending on each individual and their specific circumstances. Factors such as spelling errors in the application, missing documents, birth certificate discrepancies, and inconclusive DNA tests can cause delays to the process.

You will receive a Tribal ID card once you are approved as an enrolled Citizen of Wilton Rancheria. All Citizen ages twelve (12) and older may obtain a Tribal ID card.

No. The Office of Enrollment does not assist with personal genealogy research and cannot release information regarding ancestry.

The applicant may contact family members to assist; if a release of information form is submitted.

You can request an original certified copy of your Birth Certificate from the County in which you were born. Fees may apply. For applicants born in Sacramento County, contact one of the County Records Offices listed below:
