Wilton Rancheria Closes on Additional 30 Acres Across from Sky River Casino

The added real estate bolsters Wilton Rancheria’s reputation as an economic powerhouse in the region

ELK GROVE, CA—Today, Wilton Rancheria announced its acquisition of an additional 30 acres of land adjacent to the Tribe’s Sky River Casino. The purchase marks the fourth major land acquisition for the Tribe in the last 3 years.

“This purchase not only secures our ability to preserve and honor our cultural heritage, but also opens new avenues for growth and prosperity,” said Chairman Jesus Tarango. “With this land, we have the opportunity to develop projects that will serve as an economic driver for our community and the surrounding areas. This is yet another proud moment for our Tribe as we continue to reclaim our ancestral land and look forward to the bright future that lies ahead.”

The parcel sits along Lent Ranch Parkway and Promenade Parkway, adjacent to the Tribe’s Sky River Casino in Elk Grove. You can view the acquired space here. No plans for the land have been publicly announced.

“Our investment lays the foundation for a wide range of projects that will not only enhance our economic self-sufficiency but also create significant opportunities for our members and the community,” said Chris Franklin, Wilton Rancheria’s Chief Operating Officer. “We are committed to ensuring that our development strategies are sustainable and aligned with our values, balancing economic growth with the preservation of our culture and resources.”

A formerly landless tribe, Wilton Rancheria has demonstrated remarkable resiliency and innovation by successfully restoring their federal status and reclaiming several pieces of their ancestral land after decades of displacement. This purchase is another step in securing the Tribe’s economic sustainability and sovereignty.

Wilton Rancheria currently possesses nearly 140 acres of land, including the Sky River Casino, the parcels surrounding it, and 77 acres recently put into trust with plans to develop central services and preserve cultural legacy.
