Judge Treaver Hodson was appointed by the Tribal Council as an Appellate Chief Judge on the Wilton Rancheria Appellate Panel in 2020 and was reappointed in 2023. He is a member of Wilton Rancheria. Judge Hodson brings over 20 years’ experience in advising executive management, in-house corporate legal counsel, labor relations administrators, and human resource professionals. His legal practice includes offering management counsel and legal advice for compliance with all areas of employment and labor law.

Judge Hodson is licensed to practice law in California and Utah. He is a member of the Labor and Employment Law sections of the state and county bar associations. Judge Hodson serves as the President of the Sacramento Chapter of the BYU Management Society and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. He is also a member of the Sacramento Area Human Resource Association and the Folsom Chamber of Commerce.
Education
Judge Hodson graduated from J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University with honors in 1995, where he received the Hugh B. Brown Barristers Award and was Note & Comment Editor for the Brigham Young University Law Review. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English, with minors in Philosophy and Spanish, from Brigham Young University in 1992.
Career Achievements
Judge Hodson has represented management before federal and state courts and administrative agencies in all aspects of employment law litigation. His representation has included such areas of expertise as wrongful termination, unlawful discrimination and harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, workplace violence, leaves of absence, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract and defamation. His expertise includes assertive use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms for to find solutions, including formal and informal arbitration and mediation. He also represents management in all aspects of labor law before the National Labor Relations Board and similar state agencies including representation elections, unfair labor practice charges and hearings, collective bargaining negotiations, contract arbitrations and picketing and strikes.
Judge Hodson has published a law review comment regarding application of federal discrimination laws to religious entities. He is a regular contributing author and lead editor of numerous articles on trending labor and employment law issues. He is also a regular guest speaker at professional seminars and forums regarding various management and human resource topics, including prohibited harassment training, workplace investigations, successful management of the employment relationship, alternative dispute resolution, and innovative compliance with the myriad regulations and legal obligations that beset employers and management in California.
