Traditional Court

The Wilton Rancheria Traditional Court is established in Article VIII, Section 5 of the Wilton Rancheria Constitution. The Traditional Court is comprised of five (5) Wilton Rancheria Elders. The purpose of the Traditional Court is to provide a forum for the use of traditional Wilton Rancheria methods of peacemaking to resolve disputes in a fair, informal, and inexpensive manner. The Traditional Court may also advise the Tribal Court on matters of custom and tradition. Members of the Traditional Court are appointed by the Tribal Council to serve two (2) year terms and must meet the eligibility requirements found in 10 WRC § 1-502. The Wilton Rancheria Traditional Court is led by Spokesperson Mary Tarango.
